There are foods that can easily regrow from scraps. Growing foods from scraps can help you save money and time. You don’t have to drive to the market and buy foods when you already have them in your garden.

Here are nine foods that can be regrown from leftovers:

Plant the root end of the onion in your garden or in a container with soil. When the stalks of the onions begin to turn yellow it means that it is ready to be harvested.

When you see sprouted cloves in your garlic do not throw them away; you can regrow them and it’s easy. Put them in a container with a little water in it. Place it where there is a good source of sunlight. Garlic sprouts will start to grow; you can add the sprouts into your salad or pasta.

You can also plant garlic cloves in a pot of soil, place the pot where there is a good source of sunlight. When the sprouts are already tall cut them so that it will produce bigger bulbs of garlic.

Growing ginger from a leftover takes is easy but it takes a long time for them to be fully grown. It takes ten months for a ginger to be fully grown. Plant the ginger root into a pot of soil. It will begin to sprout in four months.

Chop off the Romaine Lettuce and leave at least two inches of stem from its base. Place it into a container with at least a half inch of water; place it near your window. In just two weeks leaves will begin to sprout. They can be harvested in 3 or 4 weeks.

You can also plant the end of Romaine Lettuce straight into your garden.

Growing celery is the same as growing green onions. Put the base of the celery in a container with water. Leave it for a week and change the water for every couple of days. Yellow leaves will begin to grow in a week or two.

When leaves start to sprout, it is time for you to transplant them in your garden.

Green onion is a plant that you can regrow easily, all you have to do is put the stem with roots in a container with water in it. The top of the white end should be above the water’s surface. Put the plant near your window. The roots will grow back and so with the green part of the onion.

When the onions are ready to harvest all you have to do is chop the green tops leave the white end with roots so that it will grow back again. Change the water regularly.
